Eva Astrachan

About me

Eva Astrachan is a 22-year-old violinist from West Hartford, Connecticut. She recently graduated from New York University where she majored in Violin Performance and minored in Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology. She studied with Laura Hamilton, former Associate Concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and Giora Schmidt, global violin soloist. At NYU, Eva was concertmaster of the Broadway Orchestra under the direction of Ted Sperling and the Contemporary Music Ensemble, while also performing with the NYU Orchestra and various chamber ensembles. 

Eva performs with many orchestras in New York City, such as The New York Pops, American Composers Orchestra, Westchester Philharmonic, Little Orchestra Society, and Opera Italiana. She has performed in venues including Carnegie Hall, Forest Hills Stadium, The Kennedy Center, and Saturday Night Live at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. In addition to her classical performance background, Eva brings a wealth of experience in recording and performing popular music with various bands. She has collaborated with notable artists such as Jason Mraz, Elizabeth Moen, Astrachan, Sarah and the Sundays, Smushie, Berta Bigtoe, and SEANKENNEDY.

As an educator, Eva is passionate about teaching violin to children and beginners, and she is currently building her growing studio in New York City.
